Protecting the safety of your credit card information is
important to us. We use PayPal, a well-established Internet

All payments are protected as per PayPal's strict privacy
policy and SSL encryption.
SSL is the gold standard in Internet encryption technology,
which is a fancy way of saying that it's a highly sophisticated
method of scrambling data as it travels from your computer
to our website's servers.
To make sure you are accessing the secure PayPal server
before you submit personal financial information, look at
the lower left-hand corner of your browser. If you see an
unbroken key or a closed lock (depending upon your browser),
then SSL is active. To double-check for security, look at
the URL or Location line of your browser. If you have accessed
a secure server, the first characters of the address in
that line should change from "http" to "https"
Some browser versions and some firewalls don't permit communication
through secure servers. If for any reason you cannot access
the secure server, please feel free to place your order
with us by phone at 1.877.850.3325.

All our design lines are limited stock runs. This is intentional,
as we believe that each of the designs is unique and mass
production reduces the 'magic'. So in all probability, we
have either run out of stock and may receive some additional
inventory, or we may have discontinued the design. To stay
informed of new arrivals, please

Our in house design lead is Shital Kothari. Shital
has been designing and painting for several years, and has
held several exhibits of her work in Asia and North America.
She is assisted by Satyen, who also manages the general
strategy and operations.
We are inspired by artisans from all over the world. Our
current designs are primarily from 6 regions of India and
Thailand. If you have additional design styles that you
would like us to review, please email us at comments@LotusWhite.com.
Kalamkari is an ancient craft of painted and printed fabrics.
It is a process involving hand painting as well as block
printing with vegetable dyes. The Kalamkari artisans use
flowers, leaves, vines, animals and birds as motifs. Techniques
of craftsmanship are handed down within the families from
generation to generation.
Kalamkari derives its name from 'Kalam', meaning Pen, and
'Kari', meaning work. The art has evolved through trial
and error over the last 3000 years, and was initially used
to tell mythological stories.
Ikat textiles of India have the distinction of being among
the most highly priced textiles in the world. Revered by
generations of kings, treasured in the finest museums of
the world, their beauty lies enmeshed in their rich visual
texture and precision bound technique. The preparation process
involves the sequence of tying and dyeing sections of bundled
yarn. Their most striking feature is their bright, colorful
striped bands.
Ikat derives its name from 'Mangikat', meaning to bind,
knot or wind around.
The elaborate process of the preparations of different colors
in vegetables dyes is usually done-in-house. The artists
believe in using natural dyes, extracted from bark, flowers
and roots.
A festive, energetic pink from pomegranate skin, a vivacious
yellow from turmeric roots and the sapphire cobalt from
indigo are just a few examples of colors evolving out of
the natural dyes, whose peculiarities lend a touch of exclusivity
to these works of art. The red dye is obtained from Keshu
flowers mixed with Harsrinagar flowers. The iron-filings,
horseshoes and jaggery placed in a jar of water for a fortnight
produces the black dye. The maroon dye is obtained on boiling
madder wood and adding alum to it. Mixing indigo and turmeric
produces the green color. Ochre is used for creating the
ochre dye and, by adding together Keshu flowers in pink
dye, the vermilion tint is created.
